Ingredients

3 (3 oz.) pkg. strawberry Jello
1 pkg. frozen strawberry
3 c. boiling water
7 ice cubes

1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
Chopped nuts

Cooking Instructions

I LOVED mid-west church potluck dinners, or funerals, or what have you. There were all sorts of things to eat such as green beans cooked with a can of cream soup and sprinkled with toasted onions. However, I am saddened as I get older to see fewer and fewer Jell-O salads. The varieties seemed endless and the colors so entertaining. This one was my favorite and often done by my mother. I understand that these were very popular with mid-western farm folk because it showed you had electricity on the farm and could make such a chilled dessert. This is less impressive now and the great Jell-O cooks are getting too old so we're loosing a great heritage of Jell-O. This is my small contribution to hang on to it in a small way.


1) Dissolve Jello in boiling water, add strawberries and ice. Stir and chill slightly.

2) Make cream cheese balls and roll in nuts. Place in Jello. Chill until firm.
