1 cup powdered sugar
1 cup butter or margarine softened
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 egg
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons poppy seeds
teaspoon salt
7 1/16 ounces cherry preserves

Cooking Instructions

1) In a large bowl, beat the sugar and butter until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and egg. Lightly spoon flour into measuring cup and stir in. Add in the seeds and salt mixing well.

2) Heat oven to 300F. Drop by rounded teaspoons onto ungreased cookie sheets. With finger, make imprint and add to each cookie about teaspoon of cherry preserves.

3) Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until edges are light golden brown. Immediately remove from cookie sheets.
