Chocolate Caramel Nut Bars: Date Added: 13 Sep 2011

14 ounces Caramel candy
5 ounces evaporated milk
1 package German Chocolate cake mix with pudding
½ cup margarine melted
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 ½ cups chopped walnuts

Cooking Instructions

1) Preheat over to 350°.

2) Melt caramels with 13 cup milk in medium saucepan over low heat, stirring until smooth. Set aside.

3) Mix together remaining milk, cake mix and margarine in large bowl. Press half of cake mixture onto bottom of ungreased 13x9-inch baking pan. Bake 8 minutes.

4) Sprinkle chocolate chips and 1 cup walnuts over crust; top with caramel mixture, spreading to edges of pan. Top with teaspoonfuls of remaining cake mixture; press gently into caramel mixture. Sprinkle with remaining walnuts.

5) Bake 16 to 18 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars.
