1 cup unsalted butter softened
23 cup packed dark brown sugar
1 ½ cups sugar
2 large eggs
½ cup unsweetened cocoa
2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
<sup>1</sup>&frasl;<sub>8</sub> teaspoon salt
23 cup semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup pecan halves

Cooking Instructions

1) Preheat the over to 350°F. Grease cookie sheets, or line with parchment paper, or greased aluminum foil.

2) Using electric mixer beat butter, and sugars until light.

3) Beat in eggs one at a time.

4) Stir in the cocoa, flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.

5) Add and stir until mixed semisweet chocolate and nuts.

6) Drop by teaspoonfuls and bake 10 to 12 minutes on the middle oven rack. Transfer sheets to wire racks to cool.

NOTE: Marguerite used walnuts.
